The Amazing Climate Change Race!

Learning Goals
- Investigate sufficient background information about climate change so that we are prepared to analyse issues around climate change.
- To learn about some of the impacts of climate change on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.

Session Summary: In order to tackle some of the issues and activities that we will be doing during the climate change unit we must have some level of background information about it. Like any new topic, there is a specific language or vocabulary, and some key concepts that you must understand before you can move forward in your expertise.

What Are We Doing?: In pairs (+ one group of 3 if we don't have an even number of students) you will race around the world gathering information about climate change using your textbook, newspaper articles, and the Internet. As you complete a location you will get your passport (recording sheet) stamped by one of your teachers and the first team to get all of their locations stamped will win a prize! During the race other teams can give you a ROADBLOCK card that will force you to complete a strange task before you can move on. Once you complete the task you will plant the next ROADBLOCK card to hinder other teams!
